  • Congresswoman Katie Porter represents the 47th Congressional District in Orange County, California. Elected in 2018 with an historic class of women, she has developed a reputation for asking tough questions and holding CEOs and government officials accountable to the American people. As a member of the House Natural Resources Committee, Rep. Porter has spearheaded investigations into environmental pollution and confronted greedy Big Oil executives. Her bill to raise fees on oil and gas companies who drill on public lands was signed into law as part of the Inflation Reduction Act, and her proposal to hold oil companies accountable for cleaning up old wells is set to go into effect this year. Rep. Porter has also championed improving accessibility for people with disabilities in our national parks, and she’s introduced legislation to expand the Every Kid Outdoors program that allows fourth graders and their families to visit national parks for free.
