NH Primary: Romney Buys Victory Over Paul, Huntsman

Limbaugh to Gingrich: You sound like Occupy Wall Street

As expected, millionaire Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor (and New Hampshire summer resident) has won the New Hampshire Republican primary tonight with 39% of the vote. And, in the low-enthusiasm Democratic primary, millionaire President Obama was receiving 82% of the vote - with 10% of Democrats writing in other names.

With over 86% of the vote counted:

CNN reports:

Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire primary, according to CNN projections, after voters turned out in expected record numbers Tuesday in the second contest of the Republican presidential race.

The CNN projection, based on early results and exit poll data, came after final polls closed in the state at 8 p.m. ET.

CNN also projected that Texas Rep. Ron Paul will finish in second place and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman will finish third. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum trailed, with Texas Gov. Rick Perry at the back of the pack.

While Romney's victory was expected, based on polling in recent weeks, the battle for second place loomed as the most hotly contested result, with implications for the next primary in South Carolina on January 21.

Huntsman told CNN that he would stay in the race if he finishes third or higher, indicating he would contest the South Carolina primary.

Also, earlier today, rightwing radio talk-show host blasted Newt Gingrich for sounding like Elizabeth Warren and Occupy Wall Street. Huffington Post reports:

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh went nuclear on Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich on Tuesday, laying into him for his attacks on former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's business career.

"He sounds like Elizabeth Warren," said Limbaugh, who devoted much of his show Tuesday to lambasting Gingrich, the former House Speaker.

Limbaugh played clips of Gingrich's remarks from earlier in the day, and said that the former House Speaker sounded like President Obama when he criticized Bain Capital, Romney's former company, for profiting too much from its takeovers of struggling companies.

"When you have to play Obama to translate what Newt just said, basically, 'Romney, it's okay they made that much, maybe it's okay they made that much, but at that point nobody needs to make that much, $180 million. No, you can leave some of that in there and not fire a bunch of people and what have you.' It's none of his business. It's none of the government's business," Limbaugh said.

"You could have read this in an Occupy Wall Street flyer," he thundered. "The left could not improve on this."
