January 6 Committee Examines Trump's Illegal Campaign to Pressure State Officials to Help Him Overthrow the 2020 Election

State officials testify they were pressured, threatened, and intimidated to change the results of the 2020 elections.

WASHINGTON
The January 6 Select Committee interviewed Speaker of the Arizona House Rusty Bowers, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, and other witnesses about former President Trump's unlawful campaign to pressure state officials to reverse his defeat and appoint false electors to cast electoral votes for Trump.
Stand Up America's President and Founder Sean Eldridge issued the following response:

"Today, the committee heard from state officials and election workers who were targets of a coordinated campaign led by President Trump to pressure them into overturning the will of the people. In harrowing testimony, they described how the president defamed them, unleashed his supporters against them, and put their lives in danger simply for upholding their oaths to the Constitution.

"Thanks to the actions of these election officials, our democracy endured. But MAGA Republicans are not giving up. They're now trying to pack election administration offices--from secretary of state to county clerk--with election deniers whose loyalty rests with Trump instead of our democracy. We must hold those involved in this criminal conspiracy accountable to make sure this never happens again."
